The Wrong Bus
Footloose Fred Blog 102217
It had to happen sooner or later, that I would end up on the wrong bus. Once I realized I was going the wrong way, I decided to see where this one would end up. It and I ended up in a place called Ocean City at a locals Bar called Lucy’s Tavern. I was sure they would have mixed fruit from Starbucks, they didn’t so I settled for a Bloody Mary made by a beautiful bartender Sabrina (not a witch in anyway). They had 3 TV screens with all the Sunday morning NFL games on. Also met a nice couple, Tricia became an immediate Blog follower.
Back on the wrong bus heading back to Old Town. It was time to visit Steve Palmer. My first Uber ride was very nice, thanks Steve. His house is more than nice, it’s Home. Steve pulled out a nice Bogle red that went well with the salami, cheese and crackers. The title to this Blog could easily have been Memories also.
Steve was wonderful to remember the fact that I had dreamt up the concept of blank elimination in 1965, long before zip files were invented. Steve then wrote the program to compress data for transmission of data to be printed remotely. When we applied Steve’s program in a competitive environment we just couldn’t be beat. No one realized we weren’t transmitting blanks and reinserted them on the other end before printing.
So after dinner (chicken, salad and peach pie) Steve loaded me in another Uber, driven by Majdouline back to Footloose.
