First thing on the agenda was to see if I could get some help stopping a propane leak in the connection from the tank to the dinghy motor. I rowed from my anchorage to a fuel dock (about a mile) and the old geezer at the dock provided the tools and we tightened up the connection.
Wala, no more propane leak. Was able to use the motor back. One thing San Diego doesn’t have is city Dinghy docks. So to get to transit or just supplies, you have to put your dinghy on a beach and walk a distance that to me with a bad hip is unacceptable. You also have to take tide change into consideration. I had no idea how long I would be gone, so I brought enough rope to make sure the dinghy would be there when I got back.
First item on the list was a replacement phone. T-Mobile doesn’t have unlocked phones, so all I was able to do was buy a simm card for 415 717-2633. Next is to go to Target and buy a phone. Turns out my checking account went negative again, the phone will have to wait for a few days.
It was dark when I got back down to the dinghy and it actually wasn’t that bad. I rowed home and decided to call it a day.
