Today was not Otay
Footloose Fred Blog 102017
What a day to get things accomplished. In addition to getting new lag screws for the new toilet, some additional filters for the watermaker, some ingredients for the dipping sauces for the Coconut shrimp. I decided what I really needed was a MaiTai(fits into the category of mixed fruit from Starbucks) at a place called Brigantine. The more than lovely receptionist Jessica helped with charging my cell phone. I then decided to go down to Otay Mesa and get the TIP form required to bring your vessel into Mexican waters. Since Otay is just north of TJ, I didn’t worry about bringing my passport.
After roaming around Otay without an address(thought it would be easy to find), began to realize not only was it difficult to find, it didn’t exist. At least not on this side of the border. For those of you Eagle fans, remember the Hotel California, you can check in, but you can’t check out. Well in typical Mexican fashion, they will let you into Mexico without a passport, but they won’t let you back out. Thank god I checked that out before I crossed over, can you imagine my crew getting down here next week and asking where’s Freddy? The answer could have been, o he’s over TJ in jail.
I did get to experience a number of different buses and trolleys and they were very clean functional.
I was going to prepare the 2nd try at coconut shrimp but was too beat to even think about it. So I stopped off at an Italian wine/appetizer bar and relax. Once again I met 3 very nice ladies from the Denver area and spent the early evening watching the Yankees get beat while getting to know them. One of the ladies put their names on a small piece of paper so I could recognize them in the Blog. Lo and behold, I couldn’t find the paper and you all know my memory for names sucks. So sorry gals, but you are just going to have to email your names.
